Presenting the Rostock branch
Dirk Haustein, the manager of our branch in Rostock, describes his working environment as “maritime” – although the view from the office does not sweep across the Baltic Sea, but both banks of the River Warnow.
Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that the city houses one of the most important Baltic Sea ports for ferry and freight traffic, as well as one of Germany’s largest cruise ship ports. From windows on the Strandstrasse our Rostockers can admire the Gehlsdorfer bank with its splendid villa surrounded by ancient trees. The historical city centre appears in the other window frame, with the monumental St. Mary´s church. And reaching above them all the 117 metre high tower of the Petrikirche church, which was reconstructed in its original form after German reunification.
