In Nikolaus von Zitzewitz, a real expert in agricultural and forestry affairs runs our branch in Haldensleben.
20 kilometres north of Magdeburg lies a district town between the agricultural nature areas of the Magdeburger Börde in the south and the Altmark in the north. Although the town may be small, it offers some historical jewels. The Knights Templar lived on the site of the oldest still existing timber framed house, built in 1533, in the 13th and 14th centuries. Part of the inheritance left by the Brothers Grimm can be admired in the district museum. In contrast, the result of the skilful economic policy of the present seems almost like a fairy tale. In the past few years, Haldensleben has been able to attract numerous medium-sized and large companies, thus creating more jobs than there are inhabitants.
